Our Mission
At Mamabear’s Caregiving, our mission is to provide compassionate, personalized non-medical home care that empowers seniors to live safely and comfortably in their own homes, with dignity, respect, and a whole lot of heart. Because where we come from, family always comes first.
Care Has Always Been Our Calling
Mamabear’s Caregiving was founded by Cheryl, whose heart for caring for others began in the most personal of places. At just 8 years old, Cheryl sat by her grandmother’s neighbor’s side during her final days, reading to her, comforting her, and making sure she never felt alone. While others may have shied away, Cheryl was calm, present, and completely at peace being there. It was a moment that quietly shaped everything that came after. By age 12, that same compassion led her to volunteer at Sonoma State Hospital, where she cared for severely ill adults, infants, and children with special needs, vouched for by a trusted family friend on staff.
Over the years, Cheryl expanded her experience to include senior care and respite caregiving, developing a deep understanding of what families need most: reliability, compassion, and a caregiver they can truly trust. Today, Cheryl leads a team with an average of 30 years of caregiving experience, all sharing the same heart for service that has guided her since childhood. Mamabear’s Caregiving was born from her dream of creating a place right here in Chico where seniors feel comfortable, valued, and genuinely cared for.
